Fossil Butte National Monument
Fossil fish, some 50 million years old, are found in the flat-topped buttes and ridges near Kemmerer, Wyoming. Pronghorn, sage grouses and butterflies move freely through the sagebrush and desert shrub. Rudy and Jim climb the quarry trail to a 7,400-foot site in search of fossils.
