In Walhalla, South Carolina, foresters conduct a high intensity prescribed burn to aid the growth of fire dependent plant species. Next Arkansas scientists attempt to find the balance between economic and ecological benefits in forest management. Follow the Wild Turkey Federation as they release turkeys in an attempt to repopulate their original habitats.

The National Audubon Society's three-year research project in South Carolina covers the 30,000-acre area between the Great PeeDee and the Little PeeDee rivers, once home to Francis Marion, known as the Swamp Fox.
